Basic Overview
The East Coast Contingent (or "ECC" for short), is a makeshift team of several East Coast Nerfers. The team draws its members from several different Eastern states, all of whom travel to California to participate in the largest West Coast Nerfing event of the summertime, Armageddon. They are the unofficial representatives of East Coast Nerf, and have also inadvertently helped instigate the long since standing "East VS. West" Nerf feud, started by VACC in the early days of the NIC. The team is also known for its matching customized jerseys and numbers as seen on Baseball uniforms, with colorful slogans such as the infamous "East Coast Mother Fucker" originally designed by Groove.
Team Rules
One of the team's more interesting aspects is its simple cardinal rule: Do not fire your blasters at fellow East Coasters if you are separated on opposing teams. This rule applies even if the only target option within feasible firing range is another East Coaster. In the rare situation where the last people on either team are East Coasters, and the round has not been called yet; only then is this rule considered null and void until the round is over.
Logistics
Since the ECC only forms once every year, it is not considered a Nerf "clan" by regular standards, but rather just a collection of close friends and players. Many ECC members have attended Armageddon several times and as such have developed a good standing relationship with many of the Nerfers on the West Coast. The team was founded and is still led by Groove, but has grown incrementally over the past 5 years. Previous members include Kuhlschrank of the LCM, One Man Clan, and RAMBO (AKA User:Sanguinary). Since airline tickets must obviously be purchased in order to attend, the members of the ECC are considered somewhat crazy by other members of the NIC for undertaking such a trip.
Video Footage
Groove began documenting the trip to Armageddon in 2005 in an attempt to open expose the preparations undertook in order to attend with rest of the NIC. This evolved from simple still photos and text to a full-blown homemade documentary entitled "Chronicles of an East Coast Nerfer," or simply Chronicles for short.
