Eye Protection

Eye protection is typically strongly recommended or required at nerf wars hosted by members of the NIC. In recent years, the practice of requiring eye protection from attendees under 18, and strongly recommending it to those over 18 had become the standard.

When Nerf started embracing the "War" aspect of nerf, they started releasing special Dart Tag glasses, which were essentially a cheap pair of sunglasses included with the blasters. Members of the NIC don't necessarily use these Nerf-made glasses as eye protection, but do use some form of it.

The most common forms of eye protection are sunglasses and prescription eyeglasses, as these are usually sturdy enough to take a hit from a stefan without significant damage. Other forms can include safety goggles and safety glasses, as these are generally rated for much more dangerous projectiles than nerf darts. Some members of the NIC also use industrial Face-Shields, to provide even more protection and cover more of the face.
