Nerf is most popular in the United States due to its proximity to the brand Nerf and its many competitors. Although Nerf may be considered a world hobby, the most active Nerfers reside on the opposing coasts of the United States, particularly in Southern California and New Jersey. Other points of interest in the United States would include the Washington DC area as well as Michigan and a select few Midwestern and Southern states. In terms of robust turnouts Southern California and New Jersey are the definitive hot spots of the hobby. The Southern California area is home to the annual July war, Armageddon, and New Jersey hosts the east coast counterpart, Apocalypse, every August.
