Since certain Nerf guns are oftentimes hard to come by once their production has been discontinued it is not uncommon to see people trading Nerf guns back and forth. Some people like to work out a deal exchanging guns, while others like to sell their guns for straight up cash. Whatever the methods used the following guidlines generally apply. When trading your Nerf gun for cash, the money is usually sent in the mail first, then once the seller receives the payment, the gun is then put in the mail and sent to the buyer. When trading with someone it's often wise to check out the person's reputation as a seller, a lot of times these guys have done business in the past and you can trace what their previous customers thought about the dealings. Occasionally deals go bad, either by people not sending payment, or people sending payment and not receiving the gun they were purchasing to begin with. In this aspect, buying Nerf guns from someone on the internet requires a little bit of trust and faith. Probably about 95% of transactions are successful. If you think you have been ripped off, the most important thing you can do is make sure people in the NIC (Nerf Internet Community) know about the seller's actions. This greatly reduces the chance that he'll have another opportunity to rob someone again. Below is a list of common terms used when trading with other people.
